👋 It’s been a little while since I’ve posted. Her 👋 It’s been a little while since I’ve posted.

Here’s what’s been going on for me. Over the years I felt a lot of resistance within myself, feeling the imbalance between being a healer and a small business owner/former PR girl who felt the need to tick all the boxes of what “should be” done in order to keep things on all ends flowing.

But with the way things kept changing with social media more rapidly than ever, being on social frankly felt less enjoyable and more like a chore, another box to tick to maintain online presence. And that’s because it felt like a basic requirement/obligation to stay present these days. Over time, I felt the pressure to chase the algorithm, short lived trends and many times I went into this cycle of outsourcing social media because I was so over it then at some point feel misaligned, take ownership of it back, enjoying the creative process for a short while then handing it back over when it got too busy. And the cycle kept going. By not doing it 100% myself (which I have to admit, was also a great practice to letting go of control too) I pivoted many times to make it work where I create content ahead but it still felt inauthentic.

The look of the ‘gram, the color blending, how things were filmed, if captions had spelling mistakes etc mattered more than it needed to, it felt like keeping up with the social media Jones’s. It shouldn’t be so hard and my theory has become, if it’s not simple enough to do it myself then maybe I shouldn’t do it at all, or at least not in the way I “expected” of myself.

I burnt out with all the “shoulds” in my head. I had enough and hit pause. I had already planned for a quiet summer as I needed to do some work on myself and decided, “Why not just take some time off on social and see what happens?”

So I did and this is what’s come out of it so far: >>>

I got to enjoy being on the receiving end of what others had to share and enjoyed reposting their messages more.

It freed up so much time for me and minimized the sense of obligation I felt.

I felt a sense of freedom because of it and significantly less stress about not having to meet more self-imposed deadlines.

I got to read, study, connect, and
We’ve been treating loneliness like an external pr We’ve been treating loneliness like an external problem.

Find the right person. Build the right community. Fill the calendar. Stay busy. Stay surrounded.

But none of that fixes an internal experience. And deep down, most of us already know that — because we’ve tried it.

The real root is usually something much quieter: a feeling that came from somewhere, that we understood intellectually, that we explained away — and never actually processed.

“They did their best. It made sense. Other people had it harder.”

All true. And the feeling still stayed. It went into the shadow, not away.

And now you can.

You don’t have to fix everything today. It’ll be enough just knowing that we can heal this part of ourselves and it’s okay to.

Loneliness shapeshifts. In your 20s, it looks lik Loneliness shapeshifts.

In your 20s, it looks like FOMO and over-scheduling. In your 30s, it looks like friendships are quietly dissolving. In your 40s, it can look like being in a relationship and still feeling completely unseen. In your 50s and beyond, it narrows quietly — fewer people you can trust, a world that keeps moving faster than you need it to.

Different decade, same unresolved root.

The pattern I see again and again: we accepted the reality of whatever happened. We told ourselves it was normal, other people had it harder, and what we experienced was comparatively nothing.

If you minimized or dismissed your emotions similarly, I’d like to leave a little love note with you: Our experiences didn't need to be compared in the first place. What's hard for me isn't necessarily hard for you and vice versa. So if you want to, and when you’re ready, you can finally give those emotions the presence they deserved in the first place.

My dad called loneliness one of the most dangerous My dad called loneliness one of the most dangerous things we don’t talk enough about.

I’ve been sitting with that ever since.

Because the version most of us are carrying isn’t the obvious kind. It’s not “I have no one.”

It’s feeling completely disconnected in a room full of people who love you.

It’s that quiet, persistent sense that something is missing — even when your life, from the outside, looks full.

And it’s the part no one warned us about: you can feel this in a relationship. In a long-term partnership. Even surrounded by community.

Because loneliness isn’t about who’s in your life.

It’s about your relationship with yourself.

No partner, no full social calendar, no group of friends will fully fix an internal experience. But you can work with it — and that’s actually good news.

More about this in my next few posts because there’s just so much to talk about.

Reacting is fast, urgent, automatic. Responding wi Reacting is fast, urgent, automatic.
Responding with awareness is spacious, grounded, intentional.

One is driven by fear.
The other is guided by awareness.

The goal isn’t to never react.
It’s to notice when you are and create enough space to choose differently.

Using it to avoid feeling is different.

and still never move through it.

Sometimes the next step isn’t more insight.
It’s making the feeling safer to be with.

I’m in the season of realizing how emotional flood I’m in the season of realizing how emotional flooding has been quietly showing up in my life. It’s been a ninja, and it ain’t cute.
Some of you may resonate with the signs above (pun not intended, haha). If we take a pause to really look at this, can we identify with any of them honestly? Not to judge ourselves with where we’re at, but just to take notice and if it’s something we want to give presence to.

Loving someone through mental health struggles or Loving someone through mental health struggles or chronic illness can bring up a kind of emotional complexity that people don’t talk about enough.

You may feel compassion, grief, fear, protectiveness, resentment, tenderness, guilt, and exhaustion all tangled together.

And then, on top of that, you may judge yourself for having those feelings at all.

That’s where a lot of people get stuck.
Not just in overwhelm, but in shame about being overwhelmed.

But feeling emotionally flooded in a situation like this does not make you selfish.
It does not make you cold.
And it does not mean you love them any less.

Sometimes it means you’ve been trying to be strong, patient, understanding, available, and regulated for too long without enough room for your own emotional reality.

You are allowed to admit that this affects you too.

You are allowed to need support, space, boundaries, rest, honesty, and care.

You are allowed to hold both truths:
“They are struggling, and this is hard on you too.”

That is not cruelty.
That is emotional reality.
